Oil Leaking From Rocker Cover. There appears to be oil leaking out of the top part of the engine, the oil appears to come from the part where the top of the engine joins the main engine block. Does anyone know where i can get a new rocker cover and seal?
However, there appears to be a lot. A couple of weeks ago i noticed that one of the rocker covers was leaking oil so i changed gaskets on both sides. Only parts replaced are covered by a warranty.
I Had The Upper And Lower Rocker Seals Replaced Over The Summer.
I fixed the oil leaks yesterday. It is an integral part of the 'rocker cover' moulding. I then put a light coating of permatex ultra blue silicon sealant around the outside of the sealing area and slid the seals.
I've Just Bought Another Cork Type Gasket But These Seem More Suited To The Original Type Rocker Cover Which Has An Edge To Hold It In Place.

Other posibilities (from what ive researched) are the: Locate the source of the oil leak. 2000 jeep grand cherokee 3.2tdi auto.
Just Yesterday I Noticed A Lot Of Oil Leaking Under The Patrol, And Thought Poo!, Must Have Stuffed Up The Rocker Cover.
However, there appears to be a lot. It is dripping from within the mower, so that leaves a limited number of options. This is an ohv 6hp briggs vertical for a toro walk behind mower.
But, On Inspection, All Is Clean.
Hi and thanks for the reply, sorry i had a new gasket fitted, but on closer inspection yesterday it looks as though the rocker cover has warped out slightly by the where the wiring harness goes into the engine, as though there is pressure pushing it out, are there any pipes that could block up in the head area that would cause. Ive just replaced them on my d2 and you have to remove the intake to get the inner ones, also you need a 12 point 8mm 1/4 inch drive to fit in the narrow slot in the rocker covers. Part 1 as parts are on order.
